Tech Data Hong Kong named “Most Valuable AI Integrator of the Year” by IT Pro
On December 13, Tech Data Hong Kong was named “Most Valuable AI Integrator of the Year” at IT Pro Magazine’s Corporate Choice Awards. The awards program, now in its ninth year, is one of the most significant for Hong Kong’s ICT industry and recognizes innovation and excellence IT solutions, products and services each year. The award winners were carefully selected by a judging panel comprised of IT Pro Magazine’s editorial board.
In Hong Kong, Tech Data’s business model differs from the rest of our global business and operates as a systems integrator. The team’s winning project was the development of a face recognition API, leveraging IBM’s advanced AI technology to analyze each customer’s features and recommend specific drinks from the vending machine. The system also factors in big data from a host of connected or IoT devices, such as point-of-sales data, membership information, inventory records and external factors like temperature and humidity to improve the accuracy of predictions. In addition, enterprises can further analyze consumer and sales data using an easy-to-read dashboard and use this in their strategic planning.
“We are truly honored to receive this award. It is an important achievement for our Hong Kong team in recognition of our expertise, AI solution capability and outstanding contribution to the industry,” said Alan Hui, country general manager, Hong Kong and Macau, at Tech Data. “AI is a practical technology that can be applied widely across industries and business operations. Tech Data helps our customers integrate AI into their business seamlessly, enabling them to quickly begin driving return on investment. With our solid project experience, we strive to enable our customers to evolve and take advantage of the age of AI.”
